Anderson Silva to be enshrined in UFC Hall of Fame

Anderson Silva, one of the greatest middleweights of all-time, will be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame this summer, joining a 2023 class which will include former champions José Aldo and Jens Pulver. 

The news was Silva's prestige enshrinement was announced during the UFC 286 broadcast on Saturday. 

Silva (34-11- 1 NC) is widely considered to be the greatest UFC middleweight in history. His flashy striking and grappling allowed him to torment the 185-pound division for years. 

“The Spider” holds the record for most middleweight title defenses (10) and longest win streak (16) in UFC history.

After making his UFC debut in June 2006, the Curitiba, Brazil, native did not lose a fight for six years. He won the middleweight title from Rich Franklin in just his second bout with the organization, at UFC 64. 

Silva's impressive resume includes wins over Dan Henderson, Forrest Griffin, Chael Sonnen, Vitor Belfort and Stephan Bonnar, to name a very select few.

Silva, who retired from MMA in October 2020, will be enshrined in the UFC Hall of Fame during International Fight Week in Las Vegas the first week of July.
