Video: Anderson Silva's Son Gabriel KOs MMA Personality Ben Davis In Misfits Boxing Match

Time will tell if Gabriel Silva will follow in the footsteps of his father, Anderson. However, he certainly made quick work of Ben "The Bane" Davis at MF & DAZN X Series 9.

At 26 years of age, Silva has been competing for the last four years, beginning his career as an amateur kickboxer. However, he would make his professional boxing debut earlier this year, scoring a unanimous decision over a winless Angelo Thompson in April.

Gabriel Silva Knocks Out The Bane

The son of former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva would be back in action on Saturday, only this time in an exhibition bout. He would take on MMA personality Ben Davis, known by his Twitter moniker of "Bane," in a reasonably lighthearted contest at a Misfits Boxing event streamed on DAZN.

The lead up to the contest would see some hilarious and meme-worthy trash talk, with Davis leaning into the fact that Anderson Silva was not going to be in attendance to watch his son. They even had a state down mid-press conference, as their trash talk began to amp up.

To the credit of Davis, who deserves praise for actually stepping in the ring, he was certainly aware of the likely direction this contest would play out. Sure enough, in the very first round, Gabriel Silva would score a knockdown that would leave "Bane" on the canvas saying no more.

While this was almost certainly the likeliest of all possible outcomes, MMA fans, and even fighters, seemed to have been supporting Ben Davis, if only for the memes and cultural representation. That said, it will genuinely be interesting to see if Gabriel Silva takes his combat sports career more seriously in the years to come, given the legendary genetics and support he has behind him.
