Jaden Springer was one of the key standouts for the Philadelphia 76ers in the preseason, but it didn't translate into much playing time. However, that all changed on Wednesday night against the Boston Celtics

Between being short-handed and on the second leg of a back-to-back, Nick Nurse went a little deeper into his rotation than usual. In need of a spark, he gave the young guard a chance to provide a lift. Springer quickly entered the game and made the most of his opportunity.

Springer brought energy on both ends of the floor, which opened the door for the Sixers to mount a comeback against the Celtics. While it wasn't enough to come away with a win, his play was still noteworthy.

Prior to Wednesday, Springer only logged more than 10 minutes in a game once this season. That said, he played 20 against Boston and finished with nine points, two rebounds, and two steals. The former first-round pick shot 4-for-5 from the field and was a team-high +20.

After the game, Springer was asked how it was for him to get his number called while not playing much in the first ten games. He feels that he, along with others, are in a position where they have to stay ready at all times for moments like Wednesday.

"I wouldn’t say it’s tough, got to be able to adapt to anything," Springer said. "I feel like that’s the role that some of us are in right now, just being prepared whenever our numbers called."

As for grading his performance, the young guard felt he did everything he could to provide anything off the bench for the Sixers. "I feel like I did solid," he continued. "Went out and tried to help the team as best as I can just give some energy, you know that’s all I was trying to do."

Springer turned a lot of heads with his play against the Celtics. Only time will tell if it results in more playing time for him moving forward.
