Pro-wrestling veteran Chris Hero will take his decades of experience to AEW as part of the company's team of producers.

A veteran of the wrestling industry, Hero debuted in late 1998 and has worked for PWG, ROH, CZW, Pro-Wrestling NOAH, and Chikara to name just a few promotions. Hero is also known for his two stints in WWE as Kassius Ohno, competing for NXT and NXT UK.

Hero is All-Elite

Hero was backstage at the first episode of AEW Collision last month. PW Insider has confirmed that Hero is "officially on board full-time" with AEW as a producer. Sources added that Hero has gotten high praise for his work so far in the company.

This role will raise questions as to his future with West Coast Pro Wrestling, as he announced in March that he is the promotion's matchmaker.

Hero on TV?

While Hero's role with AEW is specifically a backstage one, he could soon be appearing on programming. Earlier this month, AEW/ROH President Tony Khan told a fan on Twitter that he is "chipping away" at getting a match from the Knockout Artist. Khan added that whether he gets that match or not, he loves working with Hero.

Hero hasn't competed in an official match since the March 7, 2020 tapings for NXT UK, in which he competed in a battle royale won by Ilja Dragunov. His most recent singles match took place the previous day, and saw Hero defeat Kenny Williams by submission. Despite his hiatus from the ring, Hero has refuted the idea that he is retired.
