Chris Hero doesn't appear like he's done wrestling, but does have a gameplan in place.

The former ROH and NXT was the latest guest on AEW Restricted and the topic of him stepping back in the ring as an active wrestler was brought up. Hero, who currently works as a producer for AEW, didn't rule out such a possibility, but did note if he were to wrestle again, he'd make sure it would be meaningful.

"If I end up doing something in the ring with AEW, I want it to be as special as possible, and not something that’s done just for the spontaneous moment of it, and then it’s over and it’s done.”

Since his WWE exit in 2020, Hero has wrestled as recent as this month, but only on the independent scene. Hero is notorious for being a fountain of wrestling knowledge and like the recently departed QT Marshall, has worn many hats in the world of pro wrestling, including wrestler, trainer, producer and promoter.

Hero has always been a fan favorite amongst the pro wrestling community and is greatly known for his memorable Ring of Honor tag team run as a member of The Kings Of Wrestling alongside current AEW star, Claudio Castagnoli.

Although he began his producer duties with AEW within the past few months, Hero happened to have two separate tenures with WWE under his belt as an active wrestler. He first started with WWE back in 2011 as a member of FCW before turning to NXT. He lasted with NXT until 2013 and then made an extended run later on with the black and gold brand once more from 2016 to 2020, before he was let go during the pandemic.
